  1. INTRODUCTION

Welcome to Gym Date.

Gym Date (“Gym Date,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a fitness-focused dating application designed to connect adults who share an interest in physical fitness, exercise, and healthy lifestyles.

We recognize that privacy is particularly important when using a dating application. Members may share personal photographs, dating preferences, location information, private messages, and other information that they would not ordinarily make publicly available.

We are committed to handling personal information responsibly, maintaining appropriate safeguards, and providing transparency about how information is collected, used, stored, and shared.

This Privacy Policy explains:

  • What personal information we collect.
  • Why and how we use that information.
  • How profiles and information are shared with other members.
  • How location information is processed.
  • How messaging and matching information is handled.
  • How subscriptions and payments are processed.
  • How we protect personal information.
  • How long we retain information.
  • How members can access, modify, or delete their information.
  • What privacy rights may be available under applicable laws.

This Privacy Policy applies to the Gym Date mobile application, our website at https://getgymdate.com, and related services, features, and support communications (collectively, the “Services”).

By using Gym Date, you acknowledge that you have received this Privacy Policy. Where required by applicable law, we will request your consent before processing particular categories of information.

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully.

  1. AGE REQUIREMENTS

Gym Date is intended exclusively for adults who are at least 21 years of age.

Individuals younger than 21 are prohibited from creating accounts or using the Services.

During registration, we collect date-of-birth information to determine whether an individual meets our minimum age requirement.

We do not knowingly permit individuals under 21 to maintain accounts.

If we discover that an account belongs to someone younger than 21, we may suspend or terminate the account and delete associated personal information, subject to applicable legal and safety obligations.

If you believe an underage individual has created an account, please contact us at:

[Privacy Email Address]

  1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

We collect information directly from members, automatically through the operation of our Services, and from certain third-party service providers.

The information collected depends on how you interact with Gym Date.

3.1 Account Registration Information

When you create an account, we collect information necessary to establish and maintain your account.

This may include:

  • First name or display name.
  • Email address.
  • Date of birth.
  • Gender.
  • Authentication credentials.
  • Unique account identifiers.
  • Account creation date.
  • Account status and profile completion status.

Gym Date uses email-and-password authentication through Firebase Authentication.

Authentication credentials are processed through Firebase’s authentication infrastructure. We do not intentionally store members’ plaintext passwords in our application database.

Your email address is used for account authentication, password recovery, service administration, and necessary account-related communications.

Your email address is not intended to be displayed publicly on your dating profile.

3.2 Dating Profile Information

To provide our matching and discovery features, we collect information members provide when creating and maintaining their profiles.

This may include:

  • Display name.
  • Date of birth and calculated age.
  • Gender.
  • Profile biography.
  • Profile photographs.
  • Height.
  • Number of children.
  • Dating and relationship preferences.
  • Preferred age ranges.
  • Preferred distance ranges.
  • Preferred height ranges.
  • Preferences regarding whether potential matches have children.

Certain profile information is required to use Gym Date’s discovery features.

Other information may be optional or dependent on membership features.

Important: Information included in your dating profile may be visible to other Gym Date members according to the application’s discovery, matching, and visibility rules.

We encourage members not to include sensitive contact information, home addresses, financial information, or other confidential details in their public profiles.

3.3 Fitness and Lifestyle Information

Gym Date uses fitness-related information to help identify potentially compatible members.

This may include:

  • Fitness goals.
  • Preferred training styles.
  • Workout frequency.
  • Fitness experience.
  • Gym partner preferences.
  • Primary fitness focus.
  • Exercise and lifestyle interests.

This information helps Gym Date provide relevant discovery results and compatibility assessments.

Although this information relates to fitness and lifestyle, Gym Date is not a healthcare provider and does not use these fields to diagnose medical conditions or provide medical treatment.

Members should avoid including medical records, diagnoses, or other sensitive health information in profile biographies or conversations unless they independently choose to disclose that information.

3.4 Photographs and Uploaded Images

Gym Date allows members to upload photographs for their dating profiles.

We may collect and store:

  • Profile photographs.
  • The selected primary profile photograph.
  • Additional profile photographs.
  • Images voluntarily submitted as evidence when reporting another member.
  • Technical information associated with uploaded files.

Photographs are stored using Firebase Storage.

Profile photographs may be displayed to other eligible members through discovery, matching, and profile viewing features.

Images submitted with safety reports are intended for authorized review and are not displayed as part of the reporting member’s public dating profile.

We may remove photographs that violate our Terms of Service or applicable laws.

Members should only upload photographs they are authorized to share.

3.5 Location Information

Gym Date uses location information to help members discover potential matches within their preferred geographic area.

With appropriate device permissions, we may collect location information generated by your device.

This may include:

  • Geographic coordinates, including latitude and longitude.
  • Information necessary to calculate approximate distances between members.
  • Location-related discovery preferences.
  • Maximum preferred matching distance.

Gym Date uses location coordinates to calculate distances between potential matches.

Other members may see an approximate distance associated with your profile.

Your precise geographic coordinates are not intended to be displayed directly to other members.

However, even approximate distance information may allow someone to make inferences about your location, particularly if combined with other information.

Location information is used for features such as:

  • Finding geographically relevant potential matches.
  • Applying distance preferences.
  • Calculating approximate distances.
  • Supporting location-dependent discovery functionality.

Gym Date does not currently offer a feature designed to publicly broadcast your live location.

You can manage location permissions through your device’s operating-system settings.

Disabling location permissions may affect the availability or accuracy of location-based discovery.

Previously collected location information may remain associated with your account until updated or deleted according to our data-retention practices.

3.6 Dating Preferences and Compatibility Information

We collect and process dating preferences to personalize the discovery experience.

These preferences may include:

  • Preferred age ranges.
  • Preferred height ranges.
  • Distance preferences.
  • Preferences regarding children.
  • Fitness and exercise preferences.
  • Relationship intentions and dating goals.

Some combinations of profile and preference information may reveal sensitive personal characteristics, including information about an individual’s dating interests.

Depending on applicable law, certain information may qualify as sensitive personal data.

Where legally required, we will obtain appropriate consent before processing sensitive information and provide applicable privacy rights.

3.7 Likes, Swipes, Matches, and Interactions

Gym Date records certain interactions between members to operate its dating features.

This information may include:

  • Profiles you have liked.
  • Profiles you have passed.
  • Mutual likes.
  • Match records.
  • Match creation timestamps.
  • Match status.
  • Compatibility scores or ranking information.
  • Information needed to prevent repeated or inappropriate profile recommendations.

We use this information to determine when two members have expressed mutual interest and to establish matches.

We may also use interaction history to avoid repeatedly displaying profiles that have already been evaluated.

Gym Date’s compatibility scoring is designed to help organize potential matches based on shared preferences and interests.

It does not determine an individual’s personal worth, character, or eligibility for a relationship.

Gym Date may also calculate engagement or popularity-related scores from member interactions, including likes and matches, where those metrics are implemented. Such information may support discovery functionality and recommendations, is associated with the relevant member account, and is not used for cross-app advertising tracking.

3.8 Private Messages and Conversations

Gym Date provides messaging functionality between eligible matched members.

When members communicate through the application, we collect and store information associated with their conversations.

This may include:

  • Message contents.
  • Sender and recipient identifiers.
  • Conversation identifiers.
  • Message timestamps.
  • Message viewing information.
  • Read-receipt information.
  • Unread-message counts.
  • Conversation status.
  • Information indicating whether a conversation remains active.

Messages are intended to be accessible to authorized participants while the conversation remains available through the application.

Gym Date messages are not end-to-end encrypted.

Authorized administrative systems and personnel may access message information when reasonably necessary for:

  • Maintaining the messaging service.
  • Investigating reported misconduct.
  • Enforcing our Terms of Service.
  • Responding to valid legal requests.
  • Protecting members and the integrity of the Services.

We do not authorize members to access conversations in which they are not participants.

When an account is deleted, associated conversations become inaccessible through the normal application interface but may remain stored temporarily for safety and legal purposes.

Additional information about message retention is provided in Sections 10 and 11.

Members should understand that message recipients may independently save, copy, photograph, or otherwise preserve information they receive.

Gym Date cannot guarantee that another member will delete information they have independently retained.

3.9 Blocking and Unmatching Information

Gym Date provides safety features that allow members to block or unmatch other members.

When these actions occur, we may retain information such as:

  • The account initiating the action.
  • The affected account.
  • The date and time of the action.
  • Relevant match or conversation identifiers.
  • Information needed to prevent prohibited future interactions.

Blocking prevents further interaction between the affected accounts through Gym Date.

A block causes both accounts to become unavailable to one another through discovery, matching, and messaging features.

Gym Date’s user-facing blocking feature is permanent and does not provide an unblock option.

Unmatching ends an existing connection and disables further messaging through that match.

Certain records may be retained after a block or unmatch when necessary to enforce interaction restrictions, maintain platform integrity, investigate misconduct, or meet applicable legal obligations.

3.10 Reports and Safety Information

Gym Date allows members to report suspected misconduct or violations of our policies.

When a member submits a report, we may collect:

  • The reporting member’s account identifier.
  • The reported member’s account identifier.
  • The selected reporting reason.
  • Written explanations or additional details.
  • Optional supporting images.
  • Report submission timestamps.
  • Report processing status.
  • Information relevant to investigating the report.

Reporting categories may include:

  • Harassment or bullying.
  • Inappropriate behavior.
  • Fake profiles or impersonation.
  • Inappropriate photographs or content.
  • Spam or scams.
  • Safety concerns.
  • Other suspected misconduct.

Reports are intended to be accessible only to authorized personnel and systems responsible for reviewing safety concerns and maintaining the Services.

We do not ordinarily disclose the identity of a reporting member to the reported member.

However, confidentiality cannot be guaranteed in every circumstance, including when disclosure is legally required.

Submitting a report does not automatically mean the reported account will be suspended, removed, or blocked.

We may use report information to investigate potential violations, enforce our policies, respond to safety concerns, and comply with legal obligations.

Review of reports and potential violations may involve reasonably relevant profiles, photographs, messages, interaction records, prior safety restrictions, and technical information. Review may be conducted through authorized administrative systems or by authorized personnel.

Depending on the circumstances, Gym Date may remove objectionable content, restrict particular features, suspend or terminate accounts, prevent prohibited interactions, or preserve relevant evidence when legally justified. A report does not automatically result in any particular enforcement action.

Confidential report information is intended to remain accessible only to authorized personnel and systems for legitimate safety, security, and legal purposes. We do not guarantee that all member-generated content is screened before publication or that every prohibited interaction will be detected.

3.11 Subscription and Purchase Information

Gym Date offers optional premium membership features.

We use RevenueCat and applicable platform payment systems to manage subscriptions and determine membership entitlements.

Depending on your subscription, we may process information such as:

  • Account identifiers.
  • Subscription status.
  • Membership tier.
  • Product or subscription identifiers.
  • Purchase and renewal timestamps.
  • Subscription expiration dates.
  • Trial status.
  • Transaction identifiers.
  • Subscription cancellation or expiration events.
  • Purchase receipts or purchase tokens.
  • Device and operating-system information associated with subscription processing.

RevenueCat may also process technical and transaction information required to manage purchases and verify subscription status.

Payments made through the Apple App Store or Google Play are processed through the applicable platform’s payment infrastructure.

Gym Date does not intentionally collect or store complete credit-card numbers through its own application database.

Payment providers may independently collect and process financial information under their respective privacy policies.

We use subscription information to activate premium features, verify entitlements, provide account support, and address subscription-related issues.

3.12 Push Notification Information

Gym Date uses Firebase Cloud Messaging and platform notification services to deliver notifications.

We may process:

  • Device notification tokens.
  • Account identifiers.
  • Notification preferences.
  • Device or platform information.
  • Information necessary to route notifications.
  • Events associated with matches and messages.

Notifications may include:

  • New match alerts.
  • New message alerts.
  • Message previews when enabled.

Members can manage notification preferences within Gym Date.

These settings may include:

  • Master push notification controls.
  • New match notifications.
  • New message notifications.
  • Message previews.

Message previews are optional and disabled by default.

You may also disable notifications through your device’s operating-system settings.

Notifications appearing on a device’s lock screen may be visible to other individuals with access to that device.

Disabling notifications does not necessarily prevent the underlying events from being recorded within Gym Date.

3.13 Technical and Diagnostic Information

When you access Gym Date, certain technical information may be processed automatically by the application, its infrastructure, or third-party service providers.

Depending on the services enabled, this may include:

  • Device type.
  • Operating system.
  • Application version.
  • Device or installation identifiers.
  • Internet Protocol (IP) address.
  • Network information.
  • Authentication and security events.
  • Server request information.
  • Error and diagnostic logs.
  • Application performance information.
  • Technical information necessary for push notification delivery and subscription management.

We use this information as necessary to maintain functionality, diagnose problems, protect against misuse, and improve the reliability and security of the Services.

Google Cloud Logging records operational events and errors associated with Gym Date Cloud Functions. These records may contain Firebase user identifiers, timestamps, function names, security events, and diagnostic details. We use this information for app functionality, troubleshooting, and security; it is not used for cross-app advertising tracking.

Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics were disabled in the Gym Date project when this policy was prepared. Firebase Performance Monitoring has not been established as an active data-collection integration. We will assess and update disclosures if our actual collection practices change.

3.14 Customer Support Communications

If you contact Gym Date for assistance, we may collect:

  • Your name.
  • Your email address.
  • Your account identifier.
  • The contents of your support request.
  • Supporting screenshots or files.
  • Information needed to investigate and resolve the issue.

We use this information to respond to inquiries, troubleshoot problems, investigate complaints, and maintain relevant support records.

  1. HOW WE USE PERSONAL INFORMATION

We process personal information for the following purposes.

4.1 Providing the Services

We use information to:

  • Create and maintain accounts.
  • Authenticate members.
  • Display dating profiles.
  • Provide discovery recommendations.
  • Calculate compatibility.
  • Process likes and matches.
  • Enable messaging.
  • Manage user preferences.
  • Process subscription entitlements.
  • Deliver requested features.

4.2 Personalizing Discovery

We use profile information, location data, fitness interests, dating preferences, and interaction history to identify potentially relevant matches.

The purpose of these processes is to improve the relevance of potential matches.

4.3 Maintaining Safety and Preventing Abuse

We may process information to:

  • Prevent unauthorized access.
  • Enforce permanent blocks.
  • Prevent prohibited communications.
  • Investigate user reports.
  • Detect suspected fraud or abuse.
  • Identify violations of our policies.
  • Protect members from harassment or impersonation.
  • Respond to legitimate safety concerns.
  • Preserve relevant evidence when justified and permitted by law.

Review potentially objectionable profiles, photographs, messages, and member-submitted evidence for legitimate moderation purposes.

Remove prohibited content or restrict, suspend, or terminate accounts when appropriate.

Use authorized technical controls or human review where available; not every member submission is pre-screened.

4.4 Managing Subscriptions

We use subscription information to verify premium access, administer purchases, and resolve billing-related support issues.

4.5 Providing Notifications

We process notification information to inform members about events such as new matches or messages, consistent with applicable permissions and preferences.

4.6 Maintaining and Improving Reliability

We may use technical information and appropriate diagnostic records to identify errors, troubleshoot functionality, and maintain service security.

4.7 Complying With Legal Obligations

We may process or disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with applicable laws, valid legal requests, or lawful government processes.

  1. INFORMATION VISIBLE TO OTHER MEMBERS

Gym Date is a dating service. Sharing selected profile information with other eligible members is essential to its functionality.

Depending on your profile and applicable discovery settings, other members may see:

  • Your display name.
  • Your age.
  • Your gender.
  • Your profile photographs.
  • Your biography.
  • Your height.
  • Your stated number of children.
  • Your fitness interests.
  • Your dating preferences or relationship intentions.
  • Your approximate distance.
  • Relevant compatibility information.

Not every profile field is necessarily displayed in every interface.

Certain information, such as your account email address, authentication credentials, and internal account identifiers, is not intended for public profile display.

Your profile is not necessarily visible to every Gym Date member.

Visibility is influenced by factors including discovery eligibility, account status, matching preferences, previous interactions, and safety restrictions.

Nevertheless, you should treat information intentionally placed in your dating profile as information that other eligible members may see or retain.

We cannot prevent another member from taking screenshots or independently recording information they are permitted to view.

  1. HOW WE SHARE PERSONAL INFORMATION

We do not make members’ private account databases publicly accessible.

However, we may share or disclose information in the circumstances described below.

6.1 Other Gym Date Members

We share selected profile information through discovery and matching features.

Private messages are made available to authorized conversation participants while the conversation remains accessible through the application.

6.2 Cloud Infrastructure and Service Providers

We use third-party technology providers to operate Gym Date.

These include:

Google Firebase and Google Cloud

Used for:

  • Firebase Authentication.
  • Cloud Firestore database storage.
  • Firebase Storage for uploaded files.
  • Cloud Functions for server-side operations.
  • Firebase Cloud Messaging for push notifications.
  • Firebase Remote Config for application configuration.
  • Infrastructure and security operations.

These services may process account identifiers, profile information, messages, uploaded files, location information, technical information, and other data necessary to provide their respective functions.

RevenueCat

Used for:

  • Subscription management.
  • Purchase validation.
  • Premium membership entitlements.
  • Subscription lifecycle processing.
  • Subscription-related customer identification.

RevenueCat may process subscription history, purchase receipts or tokens, device information, and application user identifiers.

Apple and Google

Used for applicable app distribution, subscription purchases, and device notification services.

These providers may process personal information as necessary to perform their services.

Their processing is also subject to applicable contractual arrangements and their own privacy practices.

6.3 Legal and Safety Disclosures

We may disclose information when we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to:

  • Comply with applicable law.
  • Respond to valid legal process.
  • Protect the rights or safety of individuals.
  • Investigate fraud or suspected unlawful activity.
  • Enforce our Terms of Service.
  • Protect the security and integrity of Gym Date.

Review information reasonably relevant to reported harassment, threats, fraud, impersonation, or other misconduct.

Remove prohibited content, enforce Community Standards, or take appropriate account action.

Provide limited information to appropriate authorities, legal representatives, or authorized providers when required or permitted by law. We seek to limit disclosures to information reasonably necessary for the applicable purpose.

6.4 Business Transfers

If Gym Date undergoes a merger, acquisition, restructuring, financing transaction, or sale of business assets, relevant information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

Any such transfer will be subject to applicable legal requirements.

6.5 Sale of Personal Information

Gym Date does not currently operate a business model based on selling members’ personal information to data brokers or third-party advertisers.

We do not currently intend to sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

If our practices change, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide any notices, consent mechanisms, or opt-out rights required by law.

The meaning of “sale” or “sharing” may differ under applicable privacy laws.

  1. LOCATION PRIVACY

Location information is particularly important to Gym Date’s discovery functionality.

We recognize that location data can also be sensitive.

Gym Date uses geographic coordinates to support distance calculations and location-based recommendations.

Although the application displays approximate distances rather than intentionally displaying precise coordinates, location information may still be used to infer a person’s general whereabouts.

Members should exercise caution when sharing information about:

  • Their home.
  • Their workplace.
  • Their gym.
  • Their daily routines.
  • Frequently visited locations.

Gym Date does not guarantee that approximate distance displays prevent all location inference.

Members may withdraw device-level location permissions through their operating-system settings.

This may reduce or prevent access to location-dependent features.

  1. AUTOMATED MATCHING AND COMPATIBILITY

Gym Date uses automated processes to organize and recommend potential matches.

These processes may evaluate information such as:

  • Fitness goals.
  • Training styles.
  • Workout frequency.
  • Fitness experience.
  • Fitness preferences.
  • Age preferences.
  • Distance preferences.
  • Height preferences.
  • Preferences relating to children.

The resulting compatibility information is intended to help members discover people who may share relevant interests or preferences.

Compatibility results are estimates based on available information.

They do not constitute guarantees regarding personal compatibility, relationship success, physical safety, or another member’s intentions.

Where applicable privacy laws provide rights concerning certain forms of automated decision-making or profiling, eligible individuals may exercise those rights as described in this Privacy Policy.

  1. DATA SECURITY

We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction.

These measures include, as applicable:

  • Account authentication.
  • Access restrictions.
  • Database security rules.
  • Server-side authorization checks.
  • Restricted messaging operations.
  • Secure cloud infrastructure.
  • Transport encryption.
  • Controls intended to prevent unauthorized access to conversations.
  • Restrictions on confidential safety reports.
  • Security monitoring and maintenance.

We also use backend controls intended to enforce blocking, matching eligibility, and messaging authorization.

However, no internet-based application, storage system, or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

We cannot guarantee that unauthorized access, data loss, or security incidents will never occur.

Members are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their login credentials and for using appropriate security measures on their devices.

If you suspect unauthorized access to your account, please contact us promptly.

  1. DATA RETENTION

Gym Date retains personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide our Services, maintain platform security, protect members, investigate potential misconduct, resolve disputes, and comply with applicable legal obligations.

Retention practices vary depending on the type of information collected, its purpose, and whether the information remains necessary for legitimate operational, safety, security, or legal purposes.

When a member permanently deletes their account, Gym Date removes certain account-related information while retaining specific records as described below.

Account deletion does not necessarily result in the immediate deletion of all personal information associated with the former member.

All retained personal information remains subject to applicable privacy and data-protection requirements.

10.1 Account and Profile Information

Account registration information, profile details, photographs, dating preferences, fitness preferences, and related account settings are generally retained while an account remains active.

When a member permanently deletes their account, Gym Date’s automated deletion process removes:

  • The member’s Firebase Authentication account.
  • The member’s primary Firestore user profile and information contained within that profile.
  • Profile photographs and other files stored in the member’s designated user-specific storage directory.
  • Match records involving the member.
  • Incoming and outgoing swipe records.
  • The member’s internal premium entitlement record.

Certain information associated with the former member may remain in other records when retention is necessary for legitimate safety, security, operational, or legal purposes, subject to applicable law.

10.2 Messages and Match Information

Gym Date stores conversation records and messages to provide messaging functionality between eligible matched members.

Message information may include:

  • Message contents.
  • Sender and recipient identifiers.
  • Conversation identifiers.
  • Message timestamps.
  • Read-receipt information.
  • Conversation metadata and status information.

When a member permanently deletes their account, existing chat conversations and message history are not immediately deleted.

Instead, Gym Date closes associated conversations and prevents further interaction through those conversations.

The deleted member can no longer access their account or conversations. Other participants also lose access to those conversations through the application.

Retained conversations are removed from the remaining participants’ Recent Chats interface and cannot be reopened through ordinary member-facing functionality.

Gym Date retains these records temporarily because they may contain information relevant to:

  • Harassment, bullying, or threatening behavior.
  • Fraud, scams, or impersonation.
  • Violations of our Terms of Service.
  • Member safety investigations.
  • Legitimate disputes or legal proceedings.
  • Compliance with applicable legal obligations.

Gym Date has established a policy objective of limiting ordinary post-account-deletion conversation retention to 90 days, measured from the date the first participant permanently deletes their account.

Implementation of the associated automated deletion schedule is being finalized. Until that process is operational, retained conversations may remain stored beyond the intended period.

Where a specific legal, security, or safety justification permits or requires continued retention, relevant information may be retained longer.

Access to retained conversations is restricted to authorized administrative systems and personnel for legitimate safety, security, investigative, or legal purposes.

Conversation records remain subject to applicable privacy rights and deletion requirements.

Conversations do not enter the post-account-deletion retention period solely because members stop communicating, unmatch, or block one another.

10.3 Blocking and Safety Records

Gym Date maintains certain information associated with blocking, unmatching, and member safety.

This information may include:

  • Account identifiers associated with blocking actions.
  • Records necessary to enforce interaction restrictions.
  • Conversation status information.
  • Safety reports.
  • Reported account identifiers.
  • Report reasons and descriptions.
  • Supporting evidence submitted with reports.
  • Information concerning suspected violations of our Terms of Service.

Blocking records may be retained while necessary to enforce permanent blocking restrictions and protect the integrity of the Services.

Safety reports and supporting evidence may be retained when reasonably necessary to investigate misconduct, address member safety concerns, prevent fraud or abuse, resolve disputes, or comply with applicable laws.

Deleting an account does not automatically remove all previously submitted reports, related evidence, or applicable safety records.

Access to confidential reporting information is intended to be restricted to authorized personnel and systems.

These records remain subject to applicable privacy and data-protection requirements.

10.4 Subscription Information

Gym Date processes subscription information to manage premium memberships and verify access to paid features.

When a member permanently deletes their account, Gym Date deletes the member’s internal Firestore premium entitlement record.

However, subscription and transaction information may remain with third-party payment and subscription providers, including Apple, Google, and RevenueCat.

These providers may retain information in accordance with their own privacy policies, contractual obligations, and applicable legal requirements.

Gym Date may also retain limited information when necessary for legitimate billing disputes, fraud prevention, financial recordkeeping, or legal compliance.

Deleting a Gym Date account does not automatically cancel an active subscription through Apple or Google Play.

Members should manage subscription cancellation through the applicable app store.

10.5 Account Deletion and Retained Information

When a member requests permanent account deletion, Gym Date initiates an automated server-side process.

The process removes the member’s authentication account, primary user profile, designated uploaded files, matches, swipe records, and internal premium entitlement information.

Existing chat conversations and message history are preserved in Firestore but become unavailable through the normal member experience.

Other information may also remain stored when necessary for legitimate purposes, including:

  • Account-deletion processing records.
  • Safety reports and supporting evidence.
  • Information relevant to suspected fraud or abuse.
  • Records necessary for security investigations.
  • Information relevant to disputes or legal proceedings.
  • Records required by applicable laws or lawful legal requests.

Gym Date will evaluate requests for deletion of retained personal information in accordance with applicable privacy laws.

Where a legally applicable exception permits or requires continued retention, certain information may remain stored despite an account-deletion request.

Retention is not intended to provide unrestricted or permanent access to former members’ information.

For additional information about the account-deletion process, please refer to Section 11 — Account Deletion.

10.6 Account Deletion Records, Backups, and Security Information

Gym Date maintains limited internal records documenting account-deletion requests and their processing status.

These records may include:

  • An internal account identifier.
  • The status of the deletion request.
  • Request and processing timestamps.
  • Confirmation that deletion was completed.
  • Information indicating whether additional processing or investigation is required.

These records may be retained for legitimate operational purposes, including verifying account-deletion activity, troubleshooting unsuccessful requests, maintaining system integrity, and demonstrating compliance with applicable obligations.

Some information may also remain temporarily in protected infrastructure backups, diagnostic records, or system logs.

Such information is subject to applicable retention practices and legal requirements.

Internal deletion records and retained security information are not intended to be publicly accessible or available to ordinary Gym Date members.

Gym Date will assess the continued necessity of retained information and applicable obligations to delete, restrict, or otherwise protect that information.

We will not retain personal information longer than permitted by applicable law.

  1. ACCOUNT DELETION

Gym Date provides members with the ability to permanently delete their accounts through the mobile application.

We recognize that account deletion is an important privacy right. We also recognize the need to protect members, preserve information relevant to legitimate safety investigations, and comply with applicable legal obligations.

This section explains how account deletion works, what information is deleted, what information may remain temporarily stored, and how retained information is protected.

11.1 How to Delete Your Account

Members may permanently delete their Gym Date accounts by completing the following steps:

  1. Open the Gym Date mobile application.
  2. Navigate to Settings.
  3. Select Account & Privacy.
  4. Select Delete Account.
  5. Follow the confirmation instructions to initiate permanent account deletion.

Members who need assistance with account deletion may contact Gym Date at:

Gym Date also intends to provide a publicly accessible account-deletion request page at https://getgymdate.com/delete-account/. Until that page is published and functional, requests for assistance may be sent using the contact address below.

[Privacy Email Address]

Account deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed.

Once account deletion has been successfully completed, the former member can no longer sign in using the deleted account.

11.2 Information Deleted During Account Closure

When a member permanently deletes their account, Gym Date initiates an automated server-side process to remove the member’s account and designated associated information.

When this process completes successfully, the following information is deleted from Gym Date’s active application systems:

Account and Authentication Information

  • The member’s Firebase Authentication account.
  • The member’s primary application profile.
  • Personal information maintained within the deleted profile.
  • Profile settings and preferences stored within that profile.

Profile Photographs

  • Profile photographs and other files stored within the member’s designated user-specific Firebase Storage directory.

Matching and Discovery Information

  • Existing match records involving the member.
  • Outgoing likes and passes initiated by the member.
  • Incoming likes and passes directed toward the member.

Premium Membership Information

  • The member’s internal premium subscription entitlement record maintained in Firestore.

Deletion of Gym Date’s internal entitlement record does not necessarily cancel an active subscription or remove transaction records independently maintained by Apple, Google, RevenueCat, or other applicable payment providers.

11.3 Chat Conversations and Message History

Deleting a Gym Date account does not immediately delete existing chat conversations or message history.

When a member permanently deletes their account, Gym Date closes all associated conversations and prevents further interaction through those conversations.

The following changes occur:

  • Conversations involving the deleted account are marked as blocked and unavailable.
  • The deleted member loses access to the application and all associated conversations.
  • Other participants lose access to conversations involving the deleted account.
  • These conversations are removed from the remaining participants’ Recent Chats interface.
  • Additional messages cannot be sent through the closed conversations.
  • Remaining participants receive an in-app notification indicating that the conversation is no longer available.

Although these conversations are no longer accessible through the normal member experience, their underlying records remain stored in Gym Date’s Firebase Firestore infrastructure.

Gym Date’s intended standard retention period for these records is 90 days following the date of account deletion.

The retention period begins when the first participant in the conversation permanently deletes their account.

If the other participant subsequently deletes their account, this does not restart the intended retention period.

The automated enforcement of this retention schedule is being finalized. Until it is operational, preserved records may remain stored longer than the intended period.

Information may also be retained longer when a specific, legally permissible reason justifies preservation.

11.4 Why Gym Date Retains Conversations

Gym Date temporarily retains conversation records after account deletion to support legitimate safety, security, and legal purposes.

Dating applications may involve communications relevant to member safety or investigations of inappropriate conduct.

For example, a conversation may contain evidence concerning:

  • Harassment or bullying.
  • Threatening or abusive communications.
  • Fraudulent activity or scams.
  • Impersonation or deceptive conduct.
  • Violations of Gym Date’s Terms of Service.
  • Complaints submitted by other members.
  • Potential disputes or legal proceedings.

Immediately destroying all conversation records when one participant deletes their account could affect the ability to investigate legitimate complaints or preserve relevant evidence.

Gym Date’s intended 90-day retention window is designed to provide a limited period during which potential safety concerns can be investigated following account deletion.

Retention of conversation records does not mean that Gym Date guarantees their availability as evidence or their preservation beyond an applicable retention period.

Members should not rely on Gym Date as a personal evidence-storage service.

11.5 Access to Retained Conversations

After account deletion, retained conversation records are not available to former participants through Gym Date’s ordinary messaging interface.

Ordinary members cannot reopen these conversations or resume messaging through them.

Retained conversation information is intended to be accessible only through authorized administrative systems and personnel with a legitimate reason to access it.

Permitted purposes may include:

  • Reviewing reports of suspected misconduct.
  • Investigating threats, harassment, fraud, or abuse.
  • Enforcing Gym Date’s Terms of Service.
  • Maintaining platform security.
  • Responding to valid legal requests.
  • Addressing legitimate disputes.
  • Complying with applicable laws.

Gym Date’s administrative infrastructure may access retained information independently of ordinary member-facing access restrictions.

Administrative access does not authorize unrestricted use or disclosure of retained personal information.

We do not make retained conversations publicly available or permit ordinary members to access conversations that have been closed because of account deletion.

11.6 Other Information That May Be Retained

In addition to temporarily retained conversation and message history, Gym Date may retain certain information after account deletion when necessary for legitimate operational, safety, security, or legal purposes.

This may include:

  • Internal account-deletion records.
  • Previously submitted safety reports.
  • Evidence associated with safety reports.
  • Information necessary to investigate suspected fraud, abuse, or unlawful activity.
  • Records relevant to legitimate disputes or legal proceedings.
  • Information required to comply with applicable laws or lawful requests.
  • Information temporarily maintained in protected backups or system logs.

The retention of these records does not restore the deleted member’s account or permit continued use of Gym Date.

Information retained after account deletion remains subject to applicable privacy protections and legal requirements.

11.7 Retention Periods and Subsequent Deletion

Gym Date has adopted a policy objective of retaining ordinary conversation records for 90 days following permanent account deletion.

The intended retention period applies to conversations involving the deleted account, regardless of whether the other participant maintains an active Gym Date account.

The automated deletion process required to enforce this schedule is not yet operational.

Once implemented, the process is intended to remove eligible conversations and associated messages from the active application database after the 90-day period, unless a specific, legally permissible reason justifies continued retention.

Examples of circumstances that may justify extended retention include:

  • An ongoing investigation into reported misconduct.
  • A legitimate safety or security investigation.
  • A valid legal preservation requirement.
  • Pending or reasonably anticipated legal proceedings.
  • Compliance with applicable laws or lawful legal requests.

Extended retention must be limited to information reasonably necessary for the applicable purpose and remain subject to relevant legal requirements.

Where appropriate, information may be deleted, de-identified, or otherwise processed to reduce its association with identifiable individuals.

The intended 90-day post-account-deletion retention period does not begin solely because members have stopped communicating.

Unmatching or blocking another member does not, by itself, initiate that period.

Members may exercise applicable privacy rights concerning retained information, including requesting deletion where permitted by law.

11.8 Privacy Rights and Requests for Retained Information

Depending on applicable law, individuals may have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information maintained by Gym Date.

These rights may apply to personal information retained after an account has been deleted.

Members and former members may submit privacy-related requests by contacting:

[Privacy Email Address]

Requests may concern:

  • Personal information that remains stored after account deletion.
  • Retained conversation information.
  • Previously submitted safety reports.
  • Correction of inaccurate personal information.
  • Deletion of information subject to applicable privacy rights.
  • Other rights provided by applicable law.

Gym Date may require reasonable identity verification before responding to requests involving personal information.

Requests will be evaluated in accordance with applicable privacy laws.

Certain requests may be denied or limited when a legally applicable exception permits or requires continued retention, including circumstances involving security investigations, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims.

Where required by law, Gym Date will explain applicable limitations and provide information about available appeal rights.

Gym Date will respond to qualifying requests within the timeframes required by applicable law.

11.9 Account Deletion and Active Subscriptions

Deleting a Gym Date account does not automatically cancel an active subscription purchased through Apple or Google Play.

Members should cancel any active subscription through the applicable app store to prevent future renewal charges.

Subscription management is handled through the relevant payment platform.

Deleting an account does not automatically entitle a member to a refund.

Refund eligibility is determined by applicable law and the policies of the relevant payment platform.

11.10 Unsuccessful Account Deletion Requests

If Gym Date cannot complete an automated account-deletion request, the system maintains an internal record indicating that additional processing or investigation is required.

Members experiencing difficulties deleting their accounts should contact:

[Privacy Email Address]

Gym Date will review the issue and take appropriate action consistent with applicable legal obligations.

11.11 Permanent Account Closure

Once the account-deletion process has successfully completed:

  • The former member’s authentication account is deleted.
  • Their dating profile is removed.
  • Their matches and swipe records are removed.
  • Their associated conversations become inaccessible through the application.
  • Their conversations and message history remain subject to the retention practices described in this Privacy Policy.
  • They can no longer access the deleted account.
  • Their previous account cannot be restored through Gym Date’s normal account-recovery process.

Some information may remain stored as described in this section.

A former member who wishes to use Gym Date again must create a new account, subject to Gym Date’s eligibility requirements, Terms of Service, and applicable restrictions.

Account deletion does not automatically override permanent blocking restrictions or other measures implemented to protect the safety and integrity of the Services.
